Striped Suit Earns Jim Nelle The Title Of 'Tiger Man'

Detroit Tigers fan Jim Nelle, 55, of Winterset Iowa and originally from Farmington Hills is known to fans as "Tiger Man" because of his Tiger striped suit.

Asked how he could afford the great seats (he's always seen on camera) Nelle is humbled.

"God has blessed me, I do pretty good," he said. "I used to get my tickets on Stub Hub and I'd get great seats. I'm a Tiger fan and I think I went to 30 games last year."

Nelle says he's traveled to every stadium except Oakland, Baltimore and Toronto.

He defended the 'chick magnet' claim of the animal print jacket: "That's not why I do it - I'm a Tiger fan."

Nelle owes his wardrobe, pastime and financial freedom to his roofing business.

And Nelle was fortunate in that he didn't have to worry about bad weather ruining his look - the sun held and the Tigers came through with an 8-3 home opener win over the New York Yankees.
