Teen Armed Rapist Charged As An Adult

NOVI (WWJ) - An Oakland County teen has been charged as an adult for allegedly raping a young girl while armed.

Police say 16-year-old Brandon Alexander Markes sexually assaulted a 15-year-old in Highland Township and attempted to strangle her. He was arrested that same night at his home, following a 911 call from the victim's mother who said a boy from the trailer park had raped her at knife point in the woods.

The victim was treated for serious injuries at Huron Valley Hospital.

Markes is facing multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder and criminal sexual conduct. Both crimes carry life sentences.

Bond was set at $1.2 million at an arraignment Thursday before Judge Robert Bondy in 52-1 District Court.

His next court date is April 24.
