Police Investigate Fatal Shooting On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are trying to figure out exactly what happened early Wednesday morning after a man died from gunshot wounds at an urgent care facility.

Police say they responded around 5 a.m. to the Conner Creek Urgent Care facility, at the intersection of Outer Drive and Conner Street on the city's east side.

Workers at the facility told police the man showed up at an emergency entrance with two women, clearly suffering from a gunshot wound. The man never made it inside the building, however, as police say he collapsed and died in the parking lot.

Police are now investigating the incident and are talking with the two women in an attempt to figure out what led to the shooting. Reporting live from the scene, WWJ's Mike Campbell said investigators could be seen going through the black SUV the man arrived in.

Investigators havent released many details about the case, although reports say the shooting was likely the result of a robbery gone awry.

The man's name was not released. An investigation is ongoing.
