MACPA To Talk State's Economic Growth

SOUTHFIELD -- The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants will host its annual Members Advisory Symposium Tuesday, May 7 at The Henry in Dearborn.

The event will feature top national and local experts addressing topics crucial to the accounting profession and the business world.

John Nixon, CPA, director of the State Budget Office, will present "Balancing Michigan Government with CPAs at the Helm."

Next, Barry Melancon, CPA, president and CEO of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants New York will provide an overview of the key forces driving change for the CPA profession now and into the future, as well as AICPA initiatives focused on supporting members.

Additional topics being presented include an insider's perspective into the business climate in Michigan and insights into current legislative matters in Michigan.

The event will take place Tuesday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Henry, 300 Town Center Drive in Dearborn.
