Restauranteurs Look For Perfect "B Spot" In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - An Iron Chef from Cleveland is looking to open a second restaurant in the Detroit area.

Chef Michael Symon's first restaurant, Roast, in Detroit's Westin Book Cadillac, was so successful, he's now hoping to open B Spot in the greater Detroit area reports WWJ's Zahra Huber.

Doug Petkovic, partner in Michael Symon Restaurants, says this restaurant, however, will be a little different than Roast because it's all about burgers, brats, and beers:

"It's a premium burger, we have all kinds of different combinations, my partner Michael Symon, one of his specialties is actually putting meat on meat. That's one of the combinations that has been a little bit of a secret of our success," said Petkovic. "It's not much of a secret but that's what we make a lot of the burger combinations ... meat on meat."

"We have several B Spot's in the Cleveland area ... and we are just looking to branch out in Detroit because we've had such a nice experience up there and we feel there's really not much like what we are bringing to the greater Detroit market with this burger joint," he added.

Petkovic says they're looking to open three of four restaurants in metro Detroit and they're moving fast.

He tells WWJ they hope to have the first one open in the next few months.
