Detroit-based Bedrock Real Estate Services Hires Retail Real Estate Veteran Sean Burke: Bedrock Real Estate Services, a downtown Detroit-based full-service real estate firm specializing in the purchasing, leasing, development and managing of commercial space, named Sean Burke as senior vice president of leasing. Founded in December 2010, Bedrock now employs more than 100 team members and conducts business across diverse geographies and industries, overseeing more than 4 million square feet of commercial space in downtown Detroit; Cleveland, Ohio; Scottsdale, Arizona; Charlotte, North Carolina; San Diego, California; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Burke, a 20-year real estate industry veteran, was most recently vice president of The McDevitt Co., a full-service retail tenant representation firm with offices in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, Amsterdam and London. The company specializes in assisting industry-leading lifestyle retailers and emerging concepts in the design and execution of their regional, national, and international expansion plans. At McDevitt, he oversaw strategic planning and new store development in the eastern United States, Europe and Canada for a variety of retailers including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain, Steven Alan, Carhartt, Calypso St. Barth and Paper Source. Prior to joining McDevitt, Burke was senior director of real estate for DSW Shoes and was responsible for new store development and strategic planning in the northeast U.S. He also worked as regional real estate director for Gap Inc.'s mid-Atlantic office and oversaw all components of real estate operations and new store development for Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Fourth & Towne. A Detroit, Michigan native, Burke earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration from Villanova University. Burke, who recently moved to downtown Detroit, will work with the Bedrock team to continue to attract office tenants and distinct and significant retail to downtown Detroit.
