ALLEN PARK (WWJ) – Three Allen Park schools were on lockdown, Friday afternoon, with an armed suspect on the loose in the neighborhood.
The all clear was given at the three schools affected: Lindemann Elementary, Allen Park Middle School and Riley Education Center, just before 3 p.m.
Police said three suspects were arrested after jumping out of a “suspicious car” on the city’s south side between park and midway. A fourth suspect got away, and remained at large Friday afternoon. There were reports that the K-9 team was in pursuit.
A parent talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 said she received a message through the school district’s emergency phone system stating that the suspects were involved in an armed home invasion Friday morning.
School officials said all the students were kept inside the locked buildings.
No injuries have been reported.
