Teen Takes Reality Star To Bloomfield High Prom In Shocking Dress

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) One of Detroit's toniest venues got a shout-out from an unusual source this week: the star of a hair-pulling catfight-heavy reality show who attended prom with a local teen.

TMZ broke the news, and then "Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada, former wife of ex-NFL player Chad Ochocinco, confirmed on her blog that she attended West Bloomfield High School's prom at the Detroit Country Club with student Anthony Nelson, 17, a senior.

Lozada said Nelson approached her on Twitter and she accepted.

"He even requested that I wear red, which I did!  LOL," Lozada wrote.

She explained she accepted because she couldn't attend her own prom because she was pregnant.

"I want to thank Anthony and his mom Sean Nelson for opening their home to me!," she added. "Anthony's entire family and friends came by his house to see him off to prom and it was amazing, he even bought me a corsage!!!  I've never had a corsage! You guys don't understand how HAPPY I was!! My date was decked out in a custom made tuxedo and black Chanel shoes looking as handsome as ever."

And then there's this: She gave a shout-out to Detroit's swanky Coach Insignia, where the pair had dinner.

No word on what school officials thought of Lozada's appearance at their event, literally or figuratively.
