UM's Softball Team Weathers The Storm In Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (WWJ) - Oklahoma City is hosting the College Softball World Series and the University of Michigan team is there this weekend. They were having a team meal at their hotel Friday evening when the warning sirens went off.

Athletic Director Dave Brandon is with the team. He tells Newsradio 950 there were a lot of frayed nerves as they were evacuated to the basement of the hotel's parking structure.

"And it was about one-hundred degrees, at least it seemed like it, in this lower level parking garage, not a lot of air," said Brandon. "So you are down there and you are not really sure what is going on above you, other than you know it isn't good and not having great communication with the outside. It was a very uncomfortable feeling."

Brandon says no one associated with the U-M program was hurt. They are scheduled to play Saturday night in Oklahoma City.
