Client Company Advenovation First To Graduate From OU INCubator

ROCHESTER (WWJ) -- OU INC tenant client Advenovation celebrated its graduation during an open house on Friday at the Rochester Hills incubator.

Specializing in the design, integration and implementation of vision guided robotic systems, Advenovation is expanding to a 5,000-square-foot plant on Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills.

Company president Adil Shafi has pioneered many innovations in the field of vision guided robotics over the past 24 years. During this time, he has also enlightened and inspired many in the robotics industry, including more than 5,000 people who registered for his Robotics Online webinars in 2012, which often aired from his office at OU Inc.

"Having the opportunity to have Advenovation's home base at OU INC for the past year has been extremely beneficial to the company. OU INC's location on Oakland University's campus creates the synergy needed to establish a positive relationship with the technology and robotics field," Shafi said. "Having the opportunity to be affiliated with a university improves its credibility and ours as well."

During its tenure at OU INC, Advenovation grew its customer base more than six-fold. In 2011, GM Powertrain requested that the company write its global standards for the implementation of machine vision.

Advenovation has also been entrusted to work on the Orion Spaceship's heat shield, and wrote a highly researched market report about service robots and their use in more than four dozen new markets in the air, on land, in homes, outdoors, and on and under water.

"Advenovation has grown into a thriving business while also becoming strategic partners with OU INC and Oakland University," OU INC Executive Director Amy Butler said. "It is very rewarding to graduate an OU INC client and have them locate in Rochester Hills, where they will contribute to creating jobs while supporting other local businesses and their global counterparts."
