PONTIAC (WWJ) – She’s bringing free art workshops and the message of diversity to youngsters in Pontiac and Detroit this week.
WWJ Newsradio 950’s Pat Sweeting explains that by using art and a book she has written called “Buki’s Garden”- Park West Gallery artist Leslie Lew of New York seeks to help young children understand that being different is alright.
“Today with the bullying going on with kids and all that, my book kind of teaches to be more excepting of differences and tolerant,” said Lew. “And the story is just a fun story based on my illustrations and my paintings – my paintings are sculpted oils.”
