Advomas Expands Executive Team: W. Bruce Knight, chairman of Troy-based Advomas, Wednesday announced a company-wide effort to update technology leadership, workflow design, d platform tools while increasing quality of results and customer relationships. This change is being supported and managed by Knight and newly appointed president and CEO J. Robert Barbour. Advomas is positioning itself to fully leverage changes surrounding the Affordable Care Act and HITECH. They are updating their systems and workflow design to compress process time frames while developing a customizable platform for their clients. This customer-oriented, flexible, sophisticated suite of technology is expected to roll out later this year. A key part of the company's future success is technology-based. Barbour, a senior healthcare executive, has extensive experience in both the private and academic environments focused on the integration of innovative technologies to reduce costs and improve quality. His national roles as a provider advocate have included positions as a Senior Policy Analyst with the American Medical Association, a WEDI Board Member, DISA Board member, voting member of the National Code Committee representing the MGMA, member of the CORE Steering Committee and Co-Chair in X12. Barbour will use his analytics experience as the Vice President for Physician Service and Tech Development at Montefiore Medical Center to help our hospital and health plan clients find significant revenue cycle opportunities. As part of this transition is the creation of a Chief Quality Officer position. As an integral part of Advomas' executive management team, Cheryl Korpela was named CQO. In this new role, Korpela will use her extensive knowledge of payers and providers as well as state and federal programs to perfect and devise innovative operational approaches. Advomas, a family-owned, Michigan-based company was founded by Bruce Knight in 1986. Attorneys, former hospital group financial administrators, patient accounting managers, government agency case workers, and social workers make Advomas a premier financial advocate for healthcare providers and the patients they serve. Advomas operates as the most innovative, compassionate and effective eligibility organization by providing the best partnerships, technology and customer service to improve the financial health of our clients and their patients -- affording healthcare coverage to the uninsured while reducing uncompensated care for providers.
