CBS' 'Under The Dome' Premieres With Record-Breaking Numbers

Under The Dome premiered to CBS audiences Monday night with a record-breaking number of viewers – 13.14 million – making it the most-watched summer drama premiere on any network since 1992.

The miniseries also debuted with top rankings in almost every demographic against Monday night's 10pm – 11pm regularly scheduled programming in the local Metro Detroit market.

The show, which is based on Stephen King's 2009 bestselling novel Under The Dome, takes place in a small New England town that was suddenly and inexplicably encased within an enormous, indestructible, but invisible dome. Chaos ensues as the towns people must figure out where the dome came from, how long it will be there, and how they're going to live in this new, apocalyptic-like world.

Just in case you missed the premiere, be sure to tune in to CBS 62 this Sunday, June 30th, for an encore presentation of the first episode at 9pm EST.

Under The Dome, which is produced by CBS Television and in association with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television, features a long list of actors including Mike Vogel, Rachelle LeFevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson - and even a Metro Detroit native, Alexander Koch! Koch was born and raised in Detroit, and growing up, he was heavily into the local community and high school theater productions. With such an engaging storyline, it would be easy to overlook the music - which would be a shame, since Stephen King has long been known for including top artists in adaptations of his novels. Under The Dome is sure to be no exception - so enjoy the music! Don't miss Under The Dome, Monday nights at 10 on CBS 62.
