Learn To Deploy MPLS And MPLS VPN Infrastructures

ANN ARBOR -- Merit Network Inc. will present MPLS: Implementing Cisco MPLS v2.3, a live online course, on Sept. 9-13.

In this hands-on course attendees will learn the theory and hands-on knowledge to implement, integrate and deploy an MPLS infrastructure.

Early Bird registration for Merit Member organizations is available through Aug. 9.

Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a standards-approved technology for speeding up network traffic flow and making it easier to manage. MPLS involves setting up a specific path for a given sequence of packets, identified by a label put in each packet, thus saving the time needed for a router to look up the address to the next node to forward the packet to.

This course is designed to introduce attendees to MPLS concepts, installation, migration, operation, inspection and troubleshooting. You'll start with an overview of MPLS and MPLS operation, after which you'll concentrate on MPLS Virtual Private Network deployment. The MPLS fundamentals covered in this class will provide the theory and hands-on knowledge to implement, integrate and deploy an MPLS infrastructure.

Anyone responsible for designing, implementing, or troubleshooting MPLS networks or solutions based on MPLS technology should attend, along with individuals working toward CCIP certification.

Prerequisites are ICND2 - Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices 2, and BGP - Configuring BGP on Cisco Routers v3.2.

The class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday, Sept. 9-13. It will be taught online via a desktop interface, and you may attend from any location with a reliable internet connection.

Early registration for attendees from Merit member organizations is $2,495 through Aug. 9; the member price increases to $2,695 after that date. Attendees from organizations affiliated with Great Plains Network, NCREN, NYSERNet or WiscNet may attend for $2,995 per person. Non-Members may attend for $3,295, which is the typical retail price for this course.

Scholarships are available for this class through the Merit Professional Learning scholarship program. Anyone from a Merit Member organization may apply for a scholarship if funding to attend is not otherwise available through the organization. Scholarship applications must be received by Aug. 9. We are grateful to the Merit Community Supporters for their contribution to the scholarship program.
