2 Killed, Tips Sought In Inkster Shootings

INKSTER (WWJ) - Inkster police are looking for some help from the public as they investigate a pair of fatal 4th of July shootings.

At around 9:30 p.m., police were called to the scene of a shooting at a party store on Inkster Road and New York. Police said a man was shot in the head behind the Fast Franks and was rushed to an area hospital.

Family members talking to reporters identified the man as Brian Walker and said he died at the hospital.

At 11:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call that a man was shot in the chest at a home on Hickory. He died at a local hospital. His name was not released. A short time later, another area hospital called police after a woman arrived with a gunshot wound — and police believe evidence at the scene indicates she was shot at the same residence.

The woman is expected to be OK.

Detective Anthony Delgreco is asking anyone with information on either shooting to contact the Inkster Police or the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
