Police Suspend Investigation Involving Charles Pugh

DETROIT (WWJ) - The investigation into allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a young man by former Detroit City Council President Charles Pugh are on hold, for now. The new attorney for the alleged victim's family, Bill Seikaly , says the victim's mother is concerned about the impact all of this is having on him and he will seek treatment.

"We will conduct our investigation , but we are suspending any decision on when to file any civil action and as a result of a conversation with the Madison Heights Police Department, they've agreed to put on hold their work on file in terms of bringing my client in," said Seikaly.

Seikaly said he believes there are more victims out there, but Madison Heights Police say they have not received and have no knowledge of any additional complaints against Pugh. The former council president has been out of the public eye for weeks and has not responded to the allegations.

On July 29, a complaint was filed against Pugh by the alleged victim.

At that time attorneys for the complainants stated: "As a result of the filing of this criminal complaint by our clients, the civil lawsuit which was to be filed on Monday, July 1st 2013 has been postponed."
