Man Charged In Somerset Mall Stabbing

TROY (WWJ) - An Ecorse man is behind bars, charged with stabbing another man at the Somerset Collection in Troy.

Troy police say the victim and 28-year-old Mario Ridgeway had come to the mall with two others to buy some iPhones that they planned to later sell at as higher price.

The pair got into an argument about money in front of the mall on Monday — and that's when Ridgeway stabbed the victim. Police said he then chased the victim back into the mall where he stabbed him two more times before fleeing.

A bloody folding knife was found in Ridgeway's pants pocket, according to police.

Bond was  set at $50,000 cash or surety at an arraignment in 52-4 District on Thursday.

Ridgeway was arraigned on July 10, 2013 at the 52-4 District.  Bond was set at $50,000.00 cash or surety. He's been held at the Oakland County Jail.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and released.  His name was not released.
