"American Idol" Coming To Detroit Searching For Next Big Talent

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's a chance for singers to get a shot at making it big.

As WWJ's Sandra McNeill reports American Idol will be holding auditions downtown this weekend.

The cattle call is at Ford Field, and if you sing as brilliantly in front of an audience as you do in the shower, you may have a shot of making it to Hollywood.

Those between the ages of 15 and 28 are invited to try out.

Registration day is on Saturday July 20 - with tryouts the following day.

There are a list of rules (along with more at the link below) no back packs...and you must be on time. And there are no promises that if there is a big turnout - everyone will get to audition.

Guitarists can bring their instrument ... but they have to sing a capella first.

If you're under 18 plan to have a parent or guardian with you.

Check out all the rules for American Idol  - HERE.
