Missing Cass Lake Swimmer Found Dead

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP (WWJ/AP) - An Oakland County Sheriff's Department dive team has pulled the body of a 59-year-old man from a lake where he disappeared while swimming.

Authorities say the Pontiac man started showing signs of distress before he went under water and never resurfaced.

It happened at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Cass Lake at Dodge State Park — that's in Waterford and West Bloomfield townships, about 20 miles northwest of Detroit.

Talking to WWJ Newsradio 950, a sheriff's department spokesperson confirmed reports that searchers found the man's body about 7 p.m. Wednesday.

His name wasn't immediately released.
