11,000 Still Without Power After Weekend Storms

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) - Clean-up and repairs continue following this weekend's storms and power outages.

It's been a long weekend for 11,000 DTE Energy customers still without power, as crews from as far away as Wisconsin and Pennsylvania have been putting in 16-hour shifts repairing down lines and restoring power to the 145,000 customers that were in the dark at the peak of the storms on Friday.

Many of the remaining homes and businesses off the grid are in Oakland County, which still has about 5,000 without power, in areas of Rochester, Troy and Royal Oak. Wayne County, meantime, still has about 4,000 outages and Macomb County with 2,000.

The utility expects to have everyone back online by Monday night.

If needed, customers may also call DTE Energy at 800.477.4747 to report power outages or downed lines. Or for status updates, click here
