University Of Michigan Student Found Dead In Apartment

ANN ARBOR (WWJ/AP) - Authorities say the death of a 25-year-old University of Michigan medical student is being investigated as suspicious by police in Ann Arbor.

Police responded around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to the student's off-campus apartment in the 200 block of North Ingalls, between Catherine and East Ann streets.

Police Lt. Paul Curtis told the Detroit Free Press that the man's body was found when an associate was sent to check on him after he didn't show up for an assignment at the city's veterans' hospital.

Curtis said the man's death is considered suspicious, but declined to elaborate further. A cause of death hasn't been determined.

"There's a lot of unanswered questions we're trying to get to the bottom of right now," Curtis said.

The student's name wasn't immediately released.
