Detroit Fire Department Looking For New Hires Amid Bankruptcy Crisis
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Fire Department has the "Help Wanted" sign out.
Since the City of Detroit has filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy and city pensions are up in the air, it may not be a job many would consider.
Even so, the Detroit Fire Department will begin recruiting August 19th reports WWJ Newsradio 950's Beth Fisher.
Firefighters are paid from $29,352 dollars a year up to more than $47,000.
Requirements include:
- High School diploma or GED,
- Passing a written and physical test
- An Eemergency Medical Technician (EMT) License is preferred.
