Protesters Gather As Governor Pushes Expanded Medicaid Program
LANSING (WWJ) - Governor Snyder has been pushing to expand Medicaid and Monday about 40 people protested outside a hotel where the governor was attending the Macomb County Lincoln Day dinner.
David Lonier of Auburn Hills is against the Medicaid expansion.
"The states that have done it have a lot of problems with it," said Lonier. "They say the health care ... the actual health care for the people who are enrolled program is actually worse than in private practice and the cost to Michigan taxpayers would be tremendous."
Governor Snyder has been urging the Senate to vote on a House-approved plan to expand Medicaid this summer.
