Event Notices From August 6
MCWT Sets Mid-Michigan Events: The Michigan Council of Women in Technology has scheduled two events in mid-Michigan. On Tuesday, Aug. 20 there's an MCWT networking event at Consumers Energy headquarters, One Energy Plaza in downtown Jackson. The event is free and runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Come and be part of this robust network of professionals committed to a thriving technology economy. At this event, you'll meet other IT leaders and experience firsthand one of the benefits of an MCWT membership --networking! Both the CEO and CIO of Consumers Energy will also share their perspectives on the organization's value. On Tuesday, Sept. 24, it's "MCWT Uncorked," MCWT Mid Michigan's signature fundraiser, a wine tasting event that runs from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the River Street Pub in the Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave. in Lansing. This event is $25 for MCWT members and $35 for nonmembers. Join us for MCWT's first Mid Michigan fundraiser and show your support for a strong and diverse technology community. Sponsored by Accenture, this event will raise funds for scholarships and technology-focused programming promoting education and career opportunities for girls and women throughout the region. Meet other IT professionals while tasting a variety of Michigan wines paired with Michigan-themed appetizers prepared by Executive Chef Jeffrey Langer. A silent auction and wine wall will provide an opportunity to leave with some amazing items. More about these events at www.mcwt.org.
