West Mich. Teen Killed After Jumping Off Motorcycle

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Western Michigan authorities say a 16-year-old girl who was a passenger on a motorcycle was killed when she jumped off and was hit by another vehicle.

The Grand Haven Tribune says Gizelle Coria was hit about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in Ottawa County's Holland Township, near Holland.

Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Austin says Coria died later Tuesday at a Grand Rapids hospital.

Authorities say Coria panicked and jumped off the cycle. They say 18-year-old Rudy Sanchez was driving the motorcycle and escaped injury.

MLive.com says Coria was an 11th grader at Zeeland East High School.
