Tips Lead Police To Gas Station Burglar

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Police are crediting the public with helping them track down a man who broke into an Auburn Hills gas station to steal cigarettes.

Eighteen-year-old Kenneth Klingler, of Auburn Hills, was arraigned in 52/3 District Court on one charge of breaking and entering. Klingler is being held at the Oakland County Jail on a $15,000 cash surety bond. He's due back in court on Sept. 5.

Police say Klingler broke into a Speedway Gas Station in the 3100 block of South Boulevard, in between I-75 and South Squirrel Road, around 1:20 a.m. last Thursday. Investigators who reviewed security footage from the gas station said Klingler made off with a few packs of cigarettes.

Klingler was arrested after citizen tips helped police identify and locate their suspect.
