DEARBORN (WWJ) - Police in Dearborn are looking to identify the person who used a credit card that was stolen from an 86-year-old woman's purse at Kroger.

According to police, the elderly woman was shopping at the Kroger on Michigan Avenue around 4:15 p.m. last Wednesday when she realized her wallet was missing from her purse. The woman told police she believes someone removed her wallet while she was busy looking at merchandise in the store.

Almost immediately after the theft was reported, police say one of the victim's credit cards was used at a gas station less than two miles away from the grocery store on Michigan Avenue.

Police responded to that gas station and reviewed security footage, which showed a young blonde woman using the stolen credit card. Police have released still images of the woman in hopes the public can help identify her.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Dearborn Police Department Tip line at 313-943-3012.
