2 Prison Guards Allegedly Rocked By Sock At Muskegon Jail

MUSKEGON (WWJ/AP) - One too many batman re-runs? A prisoner allegedly socked it to two west Michigan jail deputies.

A 26-year-old prisoner is accused of using concrete chunks in a sock as a club to attack two veteran guards at the Muskegon County Jail.

Sheriff Dean Roesler says Thursday's jail attack was without provocation.

Both guards were taken to the hospital and released Thursday night.

The alleged attacking prisoner has been in the jail since October on charges of operating a meth-amphetamine lab and being a habitual offender.
