Michigan -4 vs. Notre Dame: Looking at all the match ups I give ND the nod upfront with their defensive line, but I like the Wolverines almost everywhere else. Could see the Irish's downfall coming on special teams.
Prediction: Michigan 26 ND 21
Michigan State -23 vs. South Florida: If the Spartans can't light up this defense then they won't crack .500 this year.
Prediction: Michigan State 33 South Florida 3
College Best Bets
Georgia -3.5 vs. South Carolina: Desperate Bulldogs with enough balance on offense to win at home.
Prediction: Georgia 30 South Carolina 23
NFL
Lions -5 vs. Vikings: The perfect game for the Lions to show that they can do the things necessary to make a run at the playoffs. First half offense, special teams and keeping AP from running wild are on the short list for success for the home team. Lose this one and it's tough seeing any post season for Detroit.
Prediction: Detroit 27 Minnesota 20
Pittsburgh -7.5 vs. Tennessee: You want a surprise? How about the bottom falls out for the Steelers this year with no backs or receivers. Titans with the shocker in week one.
Prediction: Tennessee 17 Pittsburgh 14
Dallas -3 vs. NY Giants: Cowboys and Steelers are two of the biggest frauds this season. Both getting beat at home in week one should sound the alarm.
Prediction: NY 38 Dallas 34
