No Injuries In Accident On Airport Tarmac

ROMULUS (WWJ) - Police are investigating an accident on the tarmac at Detroit Metro Airport.

Airport spokesman Scott Winter said an ExpressJet plane that was bound for Tulsa, Okla. was being pushed away from the gate at the McNamara terminal Monday afternoon when it struck a catering truck.

There were no injuries.

Passengers were taken off the plane after the crash so that the plane could be inspected. It was not immediately clear who was at fault in the crash. ExpressJet officials say that's under investigation.

Officials said passengers — about 65 of them — were transferred to another plane, which was scheduled to leave an hour later.
