615,000 Toyota Minivans Recalled

DETROIT (WWJ) - Toyota is recalling 615,000 Sienna minivans worldwide because they could roll away after being shifted into park.

Because of problems with the shifter assembly, there is a possibility that the shift lever could be moved out of the "P" position without the driver stepping on the brake. According to the company, this could result in a vehicle roll-away.

The recall includes Sienna model years 2004-2005 and 2007-2009

Sienna owners will be notified of the recall by mail and asked return their vehicles to a Toyota dealer for replacement of the shift lock solenoid with a new one.

Customers can get more information www.toyota.com/recall and by calling the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.
