Funeral Arrangements Set For Fallen Detroit Police Officer

DETROIT (WWJ) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for Detroit Police Officer Patrick Hill who died in the line of duty.

Officer Hill's visitation is from 9am to 9pm on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the James Cole Funeral Home on Schaefer and Puritan in Detroit. Family hour is from 4:00 to 6:00 Sunday evening.

Funeral arrangements for Officer Hill are set for 10am Monday at Greater Grace Temple on West Seven Mile Road and Telegraph. The 12-year department veteran passed away just over a week ago after being hospitalized since early April. He was wounded during a shootout on the city's east side while attempting to catch a 23-year-old murder suspect. Police say the suspect opened fire and police fired back, killing him.

Officer Hill leaves behind a wife and four children. The other officer, Detroit Police Sgt. Jeffrey Pacholski, was shot twice in the leg. A second suspect in the shooting was arrested.
