Man Posing As Cop, Strapped With Toy Gun, Arrested

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - A 58-year-old Clinton Township man was arrested after police say he drunkenly posed as a federal officer while showing off his toy gun.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies were called shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday to Fritz's Pub on Main Street on a call about a man causing a disturbance.

The caller told deputies that a seemingly intoxicated male patron was telling other patrons that he was a "federal marshal" engaged in a "manhunt" — all the while displaying what appeared to be a holstered firearm.

Deputies entered the bar, engaged the man — identified as Timothy Hulquist — and took possession of an air-soft pistol.

Hulquist was arrested after what deputies described as "a brief scuffle," and was arraigned in the 41B District Court Monday on charges of being a disorderly person and resisting and obstructing.

Hulquist is free on bond.
