DEARBORN (WWJ) – Police have reopened I-94 in Dearborn after a deadly, fiery accident overnight.

The accident happened on eastbound I-94 near Greenfield Road shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim’s vehicle went up in flames after it was struck by a female driver who fled the scene.

The suspect was apprehend a short time later, although details on possible charges are unknown.

Police say the victim’s body was unidentifiable.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor. Other details on the crash weren’t immediately available.

The freeway was closed for over five hours as police investigated but has since reopened.
