New Construction In Detroit Centers Around Tier One Auto Supplier

DETROIT (WWJ) - Another sign that the auto industry is back? It could be. A tier one auto supplier is building in Detroit.

It appears the long history of automotive related business will continue to operate at the corner of McGraw and Wyoming with the new logistics building in that area for an automotive tier one supplier.

"If you go back and look at the old reports at the site ... there was a car plant here in 1917, they say," Jeff Anthony of Excell Property Management told WWJ's Mike Campbell.

"Pre-cast is coming the sixth of January and we are going to get a building up," he said.

"Their parts come here and then when Ford wants them they deliver them to them. The parts that are made other places for their assembly plant."

He says the building, which is for comprehensive logistics, is expected to be completed in 2014.
