New Years Eve In 'Never Never Land' Is Back!

MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - The 4th annual Downtown Mt. Clemens New Years Eve party kicks off Tuesday afternoon in the streets of, where else?, downtown Mt. Clemens.

Michelle Weiss, with the Mt. Clemens Downtown Development Authority, says in "Never Never Land" midnight will arrive at 9 p.m. New Year's Eve ... following a bunch of family activities starting at 4 p.m.

"We're bringing it back because of the overwhelming popularity with grandparents, aunts and uncles and moms and dads," said Weiss.

"We have meet and greet characters in different restaurants, we'll have Cinderella, Spiderman ... we'll also have pony rides and a petting zoo," she notes.

Other activities include crafts for the kids, a magic show and there will be plenty of hot chocolate on hand.

There is a special New Year's countdown that takes place just before 9 p.m. complete with fireworks.

It's expected to be a chilly night so Weiss advises to bundle up (more HERE). "There will be several warming shelters - a lot of families stay for the midnight festivites as well - we have lots of wagons and strollers in the streets," she said.
