ASTI Names Two New Employees: ASTI Environmental, the environmental consulting firm with offices in Brighton and Grand Rapids, has named Joe Beutler director of its Western Great Lakes Office at 660 Cascade West Parkway in Grand Rapids. Beutler will be responsible for directing ASTIs efforts from Traverse City to Chicago. Beutler graduated from the University of West Florida and has a masters degree in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of Illinois. He has spent the last six years working at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Midwest in various environmental roles. Beutler will also be leading ASTI’s government contracting initiatives under the General Services Administration contract. ASTI also named Katie Kolokithas to its Phase I practice in Brighton. She brings a strong background in historic preservation, NEPA and SHPO, and a desire to expand that service, as well as to add historic tax credit work to ASTI’s incentives practice. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University with a bachelor of science, and obtained a master of science degree in historic archaeology from Illinois State University, and is a candidate for a master of science in historic preservation at Eastern Michigan University. She has spent the last two years at the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office. More at
