Software Advances From Compuware

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq: CPWR) Monday announced enhancements to Strobe, mainframe application performance measurement and analysis software that has helped customers pinpoint application inefficiencies for more than four decades.

Compuware also announced it had united its Application Performance Measurement for Mainfarme with its developer productivity software, a move intended to break down barriers between development, quality analysis and operations work on software.

And Compuware announced improvements to the developer productivity software, called Workbench.

Compuware said Strobe has been improved with greater automation, intelligent analytics, an enhanced user interface, an improved status display, and increasing ease of use to help those less familiar with mainframe applications to diagnose problems more quickly and effectively.

Compuware said Strobe also now features a graphical user interface for taking measurements, improved database reporting, increased visibility into business transaction, enhanced record collection, and an enhanced Strobe Advisor that automatically highlights the largest performance opportunities and provides recommendations on how to resolve problems.

The company said Strobe also supports newly announced capabilities that help IT break down the barriers between development, QA and operations. Deeper integration with Compuware's other Developer Productivity solutions now enable the automated capture of detailed information about an application problem -- including Strobe measurements and deep-dive analysis -- which helps development teams jumpstart the resolution process.

Compuware said Workbench has been improved with more robust data search and editing capabilities, additional debugging support and a code coverage reporting feature. Included are File-AID search and data editing improvements.

Compuware will highlight the new functionality in a Webinar at 11 a.m. Eastern time Jan. 23.

A short explanatory video of the new integration of APM for Mainframe software, Strobe, PurePath and Abend-Aid, and developer productivity software Compuware Workbench, is available at this link.
