Rochester Hills Firm Optimizes Wireless LAN System At Beaumont

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) -- Rochester Hills-based Azure Solutions said it has implemented the Sapphire wireless local area network performance monitoring and optimization solution for Beaumont Health System.

Sapphire provides continuous active and passive testing of the wireless network environment, measuring end to end client to server connection quality, and providing detailed analytics. With Sapphire, IT departments can monitor network performance, pinpointing performance issues, and establish threshold-based service level assurance and alerts.

"As more applications become wireless enabled and our wireless networks continue to grow, it takes more resources to maintain the wireless environment," said Beaumont network analyst Steve Gammon. "Beaumont Health System implemented Azure Solutions' 7signal Sapphire solution to optimize the performance of wireless networks in some areas of our three hospitals. We plan to expand our 7signal Sapphire deployment and include it in wireless network expansions. We are now able to collect new information about our wireless network to take actions to optimize network performance. We can rapidly evaluate and analyze the whole RF environment, and pinpoint individual application and device performance across both the wireless and wired network -- all based on the end user's experience."

Added Azure Solutions president John Polakowski: "Having worked with enterprises on wireless networking technologies for over 15 years, we are impressed by the capabilities that Sapphire can deliver to users of
mission-critical wireless networks. This is the first solution that actually provides end-user to application performance visibility and enables IT personnel to monitor complete system performance and make
improvements through validated and measurable steps. "
