Police Seek Gunman Who Shot At, Robbed Prostitute After Sex

MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Madison Heights police are searching for a gunman who they say robbed a prostitute after he had sex with her.

It happened last Friday afternoon at the Knights Inn on Dequindre where the woman alleged that the "John " left, then returned to get his cell phone.

"The suspect became angry and produced a pistol, shoving it into the door area," said Madison Heights Police Lt. Robert Anderson. "The suspect fired three shots as the victim fled to the bathroom unharmed."

Anderson said the suspect then kicked in the door, retrieved his phone, and stole the woman's money and phone.

"People consider prostitution a victimless crime, but I disagree with that," said Madison Heights Police Lt. Robert Anderson, "because what it does is it bring the unsavory characters that include drug dealing, escort services and things like that into the local hotels."

Anderson said the prostitute, who was no injured, will not face charges.

Police described the suspect as a black man, about 24 years old, and 5 feet, 8 inches tall with an average build. He has goatee and mustache, crew cut hair and a facial tattoo — possibly a tear under his left eye.

He was wearing a black wool hat, tan jacket and dark blue jeans.

Police say he fled the scene as a passenger in a tan or gold mid-2000s Ford Explorer.

They're analyzing DNA evidence found at the scene as an investigation continues.

Anyone with information about this crime asked to call Madison Heights Police at 248-585-2100
