3 Car Accident Leaves 3 Injured In Westland

WESTLAND (WWJ) - A driver who ran a red light is believed responsible for an accident in Westland Monday that closed a portion of Ford Road for much of the afternoon rush hour.

Westland Police Sergeant Dan Serrano says he's not sure why the elderly driver ran the red light.

"A total of three cars involved ... three people ... there was one person in each vehicle. All three were taken to area hospitals in stable condition. We don't believe alcohol was a factor at this time," Sgt. Serrano said.

Serrano says the elderly man took a direct hit on the passenger's side , but is expected to be okay.
