Minor hockey players between the ages of six and 16 are able to participate in this one-of-a-kind camp. Players aged 6-10 will take part in exclusive morning sessions, while players in the older age group (11-16) will hit the ice at JLA during the afternoon.
Special guest coaches from Detroit’s active roster are scheduled to attend over the course of the three days, including Danny DeKeyser, Luke Glendening and Riley Sheahan. Maltby, Goaltending Coach Jim Bedard and Assistant Coach (Video) Keith McKittrick will also be serving as instructors throughout the camp’s duration. All camp participants will receive at least one hour and fifteen minutes worth of on-ice instruction from these NHL-level players and coaches each day.
Camp dues also include a Red Wings Youth Hockey Camp jersey, a 5×7 commemorative personal photo taken in front of a Red Wings player locker of the attendee’s choice, a certificate of participation and a ticket to a 2014 Red Wings pre-season game.
In addition to dryland training sessions led by members of the Red Wings training staff, several fun-filled activities at the Joe are in store for Youth Hockey Camp participants, such as a tour of the Red Wings locker room and a trivia contest with great Red Wings prizes.
A limited number of spots are still available. Individuals interested in registering for a spot in this year’s camp can visit www.DetroitRedWings.com/yhc or call (313) 471-7451.
