Police Search For Masked Burglars Who Broke Into Target Overnight

PITTSFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - Investigators are searching for a group of people who broke into a metro Detroit Target store and made off with several pricey electronics.

The break-in happened around 2 a.m. Thursday at the Target store on Waters Road, near I-94 and Ann Arbor-Saline Road in Pittsfield Township.

Police responded to the store after receiving a burglary report, but the suspects were nowhere to be found by the time officers arrived.

Preliminary investigation shows the suspects used a crowbar to remove glass panels from a front door to gain entry into the store. Once inside, the suspects took off running and one even grabbed a shopping cart.

The group was caught on surveillance cameras stealing multiple high-priced electronics among other items, police said. Once their spree was over, the cooks ran to a tan or silver-colored sedan in the parking lot and fled the area.

Investigators are searching for four people -- the three crooks who were caught on camera, plus their getaway driver.

Police said the suspects were dressed in black and their faces covered with masks. The only description of the suspects is that they are of average build, between 5'1" and 5'5" tall.

Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects is urged to contact police anonymously at 734-822-4958.
