Former President Bill Clinton To Headline Annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner

DETROIT (WWJ) - Former President Bill Clinton will headline the Michigan Democratic Party's annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner next month. Clinton's appearance was announced by the Michigan Democratic Party on its website.

"I'm thrilled to welcome one of the great leaders of our time to Michigan to boost Democratic efforts to win in 2014," said Lon Johnson, Michigan Democratic Party Chair. "We're very much looking forward to hearing from President Clinton on how Democratic leaders can continue to work to create opportunity for all."

"President Clinton has been a lifelong champion of the middle class, and I'm excited to welcome him to Michigan next month," said Senator Debbie Stabenow. "President Clinton recognizes how important every race in Michigan is to this country, and his commitment to our state will help ensure that this will be a winning year for Michigan's middle-class families."

The dinner is set for April 26th at Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.

Clinton's wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is considering a run for president in 2016 and is considered the favorite for the Democratic nomination if she does.
