DETROIT (WWJ) – The Wolverines and the Spartans have made it to the Sweet 16!

The Wolverines – the number two seed in the Midwest Regional – will take on the Volunteers of Tennessee on Friday night in Indianapolis. Tip-off is at 7:15pm. That game can be heard on WWJ Newsradio 950.

As for the Spartans, they’ll clash with the East Regional’s top seed, Virginia, on Friday night in New York City.

While Cavaliers’ Head Coach Tony Bennett admits that Virginia isn’t the most athletic left in the tournament, he says his team makes up for it with physical play.

“We’re a little more strong, or powerful,” Bennett said. “We maybe aren’t jet-quick, but whether we’re elite-athletic, I wouldn’t say that, but I think they’re athletic enough, and then when they put the soundness with it, and kinda the strength, that makes ’em solid.”

The showdown between the Cavaliers and the Spartans will tip off at 9:57 p.m.
