3 Men Ordered Tried In Detroit CVS Security Guard's Slaying
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A Detroit judge has ordered three men to stand trial in the fatal shooting of a security guard who intervened during a carjacking outside a CVS pharmacy.
Investigators say a CVS customer alerted 24-year-old Courtney Meeks after seeing two men with guns ordering a woman and a 6-year-old child from a car in the parking lot of the CVS on Feb. 24.
As the driver of the vehicle — another woman — was coming out of the store, she saw what was happening and ran back inside screaming for help.
Police said that's when Meek's sprang into action, and was shot once in the neck when he approached the car. Detroit Police Chief called the young guard a hero.

On Tuesday, a district judge ruled there's enough evidence to hold a trial for 24-year-old Jeremy V. Jackson, 20-year-old Jamare L. Rucker and 26-year-old Ronnie A. Anderson-Williams
Jackson and Rucker are charged with first-degree murder, while all three face armed robbery and firearms charges. They're scheduled to appear April 8 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
