Worker Ejected From Crane, Killed On Job Site
ECORSE (WWJ) - Authorities say a man was killed while on the job at U.S. Steel in Wayne County.
The accident around 5:45 a.m. Friday at the Great Lakes Works facility on Visger Road and Jefferson Avenue in Ecorse, along the Detroit River.
According to police, the man was operating a crane that tipped over. The man, whose name was not released, was ejected from the crane and declared dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Other details surrounding the incident weren't immediately clear. A spokesperson at U.S. Steel confirmed the accident, saying they would release a statement later Friday.
An investigation is ongoing.
