High School Student Saved By Staff After Near Drowning In Pool

LAKE ORION (WWJ) - A near drowning at Lake Orion High School.  The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says an 18-year-old student was standing near the shallow end of the school's swimming pool on Thursday when he passed out and fell into the water.

School staff pulled him out of the water and began administering CPR and by the time EMS arrived, he was breathing on his own.

The teen was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The CPR administered by staff from the school is credited with saving the student's life.
