Shearing Superman Looking To Set Haircut Record Sunday

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's spring! Take a look around - is your mane more in need of a trim than your lawn? This may be the event for you.

One quick snip can be yours from one local barber as he tries to beat a world record - for a second time this Sunday reports WWJ's Kathryn Larson.

With the use of clippers, one in each hand, Oak Park Barber Bryan Price is a self-proclaimed shearing superman.

"At least have two inches or better around the whole head of hair, no bald spots," declared Price. "I'm going to cut it all the same way."

But in 2006 he came a few heads shy of beating the world record for 35 men's haircuts in an hour. Now he needs a few good men to step up to the crew cut challenge:

"I'm lining up the whole head behind the ears, behind the neck, the same."

Price says he's looking primarily for African American style hair -- but any kind will do to set the Guinness World Record in haircutting.

Price needs to snip 35  men's locks in under an hour -- but he's still looking for a few more heads of hair

His goal is 40 mens' haircuts in one hour. And he still needs a few more men to step up to the haircut challenge.

The hair cutting will take place Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at the Michigan Barber School at Grand River and Joy Road.
