BRIGHTON (WWJ) – State police are investigating after a body was found on the side of a busy freeway early Monday morning.

Troopers at the Brighton Post were dispatched to the scene at around 4:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported spotting a deceased person on the median side of eastbound M-14, near Barton Road.

The victim has since been identified as a 35-year-old man from Ann Arbor.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows he might have been the victim of a hit and run as he walked along the freeway.

His name was not immediately released.

As an investigation continues, police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
